Infused Water ~ A Sweet Twist on Staying Hydrated

Water is the essence of our existence– it is necessary for all forms of life. Surprisingly though, most of us are dehydrated on a daily basis. When your body loses just 1% of its water, you start to experience signs of dehydration. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, fatigue, weakness, dizziness, dry mouth, lips, and skin, and headaches. Your bodily functions require an adequate water supply.

The amount of water you need to drink everyday differs depending on your gender, weight, physical activity level, and your climate. Severe hydration can lead to hospitalization. Obviously, these are symptoms no one wants to feel,  and they will only inhibit us from being able to work hard and play hard, the way gypsetters do.

While some of us love water, there are those of us who struggle with drinking enough and would honestly rather drink anything other than water! Fortunately, there is a simple solution that is a great option for both groups. Naturally infused water is an excellent way of making hydration a little tastier, with the added bonus of essential vitamins and minerals.

Infused Water

You can infuse your water with any number and combination of fruits and herbs. Not only is infused water refreshingly light and delicious (and packed with extra vitamins), it is also looks nice! Once you have decided on your fruit combination, simply add it to water and let it infuse for at least three hours. It will last in the refrigerator for up to three days, and you can even refill the container using the same fruit several more times during the three-day time frame.

Stay hydrated and healthy! And don’t forget about your furry animal friends; they need to stay hydrated too! Here are a couple of sweet little recipes to get you started:
