Gypset Style ~ Georgine Fall/Winter 2015

A few days ago at Mercedes-Benz New York Fashion Week, I attended the fashion show of my friend Georgine Ratelband– the brains and beauty behind the fashion label Georgine.

After graduating from the Istituto Europeo di Design in June 2011 Georgine’s thesis collection was purchased by a prestigious boutique in Antwerp, Belgium. Feeling encouraged by such a response, she set out to create her own label (now in its third season)– blazing an authentic and inspiring path of her own.

What inspired this boho-luxe F/W 2015 collection? Goergine drew her inspiration from the nostalgia of bygone days. “It was inspired by the spirit of the Weimar Cabaret in Berlin of the 1920s and 30s mixed with the romantic yet mod sensibility of British designers such as Ossie Clarke and Biba in the 1960s. The color palette of the collection was inspired by artist Richard Lindner’s work and patterns have an art deco feel that always manages to seep into my work.”

Gypset style is apparent in Georgine’s Fall/Winter 2015 collection and I’m personally looking forward to wrapping myself in its opulence come next season, enjoying how her clothes make me feel “confident, feminine and fashion forward” as Georgine says she hopes to make every women feel.

Below are some of my photos and a short video from the show. I hope you enjoy seeing them as much as I enjoyed being there.
