Start planning your summer festival lineup early by marking a quick trip to Europe next July for Calvi’s electronic music festival, Calvi on the Rocks. Calvi on the Rocks is an open air music festival located on the French island of Corsica.
What makes this festival unique is the playing room! The venues open for the festival stretch along five miles of shore line. Corsica’s beaches can only be described as a summer paradise, as they bend around the picturesque town with cobblestone streets and French citadels.
The music is hot and guaranteed to keep everyone dancing for hours. The music is mainly electronic, with some pop and traditional Corsican singing thrown in for good measure. Notable past performances include Metronomy, Foals, and Nicolaas Jar.
The festival is split up by day and night. During the day you can enjoy Plage in Casa, Plage de l’Octopussy, or Plage du bout du monde. You can just chill and laze on the beach at Plage du bout du monde or drink and go dancing in l’Ostopussy’s dance space that is literally located in the middle of the bay.

At night, the crowd heads deeper into Calvi to experience Corsican nightlife. The views are stunning– there are venues overlooking the mountains, bays, and waterfront, with DJs and live performers playing electronic mixes from 2 a.m. to dawn.
