Gypset Travel ~ The Atlantic Byron Bay

When I discovered this uber cool property it reminded me of summer in Montauk and staying at Surf Lodge. The Atlantic Byron Bay is a coastal estate located on beautiful Byron Bay, Australia. This gorgeous property was once three separate cottages, before it was converted into the luxurious plantation houses that you see now. In addition to the fabulous accommodations, you will find views of the rainforest reserve and the property’s lush landscaping.

There are several different lodging options at this boutique hotel. You can choose from the Lodge, Driftwood, or the Coconut Cottages. The Lodge is a contemporary coastal plantation house that offers en suites with private verandas. There is a shared kitchen and outdoor entertaining area. The Lodge is decorated with modern art and other contemporary touches and has a groovy gypset vibe.

The Driftwood features lodging right next to a bird sanctuary. The decor, complete with striped awnings, evokes the feeling of a seaside fishing village. The Driftwood offers standard and premium en suites, in addition to premium studios (all accommodations have private entries). Here you will also find the unique American Airstream…adding a bit of glamping to this hip destination.

The Coconut Cottages are the quintessential beach cottages, complete with pastel color schemes. The Atlantic Byron Bay has an artist residency program, and pieces from the program decorate the Coconut Cottages. You can choose from standard and premium en suites in this section of the resort.

If you hit the Main Beach, you can participate in morning yoga; and you may even have the chance to see some fire performers! If you are a surfer of any level, you don’t want to miss the Pass–you will find some perfect rights. Also check out the Cosy Corner when the northerly winds are blowing. They create perfect, clean waves. If you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can find some right barrels at Broken Head.

In addition to water sports, there are plenty of artistic activities in which you can partake while visiting Byron Bay. There are music, film, writing, and surf festivals to check out. There are also many national parks and reserves to observe the stunning Australian landscape.
